At TeamUp for Transformation, we believe that learning is as important as action. Every session, conversation, community visit, and sporting activity teaches us something new about the realities young people, girls, and families face. We listen, reflect, adapt, and grow alongside the communities we work with.

We have learned that girls are more likely to participate consistently when parents and caregivers understand and support their involvement. Engaging families helps create safer and more enabling environments for girls to learn, play, and lead.

Young people develop confidence and leadership not simply through training, but by being trusted with real roles and responsibilities. When youth lead activities, facilitate discussions, and make decisions, they begin to see themselves as changemakers.

Participation increases when young people feel welcomed, respected, and safe. Creating spaces free from discrimination, judgment, and fear allows individuals to express themselves, build relationships, and fully engage.

Sport is often the starting point, not the destination. Through games and shared experiences, communities become more open to discussing important topics such as gender equality, education, health, inclusion, leadership, and social change.

We continuously learn that young people understand the challenges affecting their lives and often have innovative ideas to address them. Meaningful youth participation strengthens both programs and communities.

We are committed to being a learning organization. Through participant feedback, community dialogue, reflection sessions, and monitoring and evaluation processes, we continuously improve our programs to better meet the needs and aspirations of young people and their communities.

Neha, 16, comes from Bihar and lives in Delhi’s Sonia Camp. At first, her mother did not allow her to attend sessions. She joined irregularly, but slowly began to learn through sport how to speak up.
She started mobilizing other girls, and eventually her mother and family changed their perspective. Neha went on to complete multiple trainings — Gender Equality, Know Yourself, leadership workshops, and Sport for Change by Pro Sport Development. She emerged as an assistant coach, developed an interest in IT, and completed her studies with free computer classes supported by us.
Today, Neha works in a company with full family support, still joins sessions occasionally, and

Manchal grew up in Bihar. COVID‑19 forced him out of school, and after his father’s passing, he became the family’s breadwinner. In 2025, he joined our program. We adapted session timings to fit his work schedule — and he never missed a session again.
Football became his safe space. He began leading drills, encouraging peers, and building trust. His dedication opened doors: Coaches Across Continents training, Northern FC exposure, Slum Soccer excellence camps. Finally, through Sport for Good City Delhi, he was selected for the official AIFF Football D‑Licence Course.
The boy who dropped out in 7th grade is now training to be a nationally certified coach, while also re‑enrolling in education through NIOS.
